The OH Beast required a 6hr road trip which I made Friday evening. I tossed and turned all night and woke up with butterflies in my stomach, the usual. Got to the venue about 45min before my start time at 8:30am. The weather was perfect, it would get a little warmer during the race but it was a drastic difference from the OH Beast last October; I think parts of me are still frozen from that one. This was my ideal running weather and terrain. Rolling hills and short climbs with some technical areas.
I raced this one alone, but did meet a wonderful lady from NC around mile 4 and played cat and mouse with her most of the race. And we finished together in cramping misery. Shout out to Spartan Ruth!
