Well my 5 mile run plus a crazy PT session last Sunday left me beaten down and barely moving on Monday. I made it to the gym, but I wouldn't call what I did a workout. It was an attempt and better than sitting on the couch, but it was pathetic. I kind of just rolled around on the floor doing "planks" and flipped a few tires and jumped rope and some other random stuff. I probably could have gone sans weight vest, but...I feel naked at the gym without it. Anyways, Tuesday I almost had a meltdown. Combine excessive training with lack of sleep and a calorie deficit and you have a recipe for disaster.
The rest of the week included two 10pm soccer games which resulted in 5 hours of sleep each night. Yesterday I did an hour of warehouse and then skipped a trail run (brutal cold and wind up here this weekend) and spent an hour doing cardio in the gym. Treadmill running, row machine, walking up a high incline with a kettle bell on my shoulder, etc. Today's PT session was "fun"....more sled pushing, holy crap my calves. Also did a lot of assisted pull ups (with towel grip and bar grip) and dead hangs. Not sure if I will be able to lift my arms tomorrow. I've never felt my forearms rip and swell like that during a workout. Rope climb and monkey bars - you are going DOWN this year!
