The Spartan Fort Benning Sprint was only two weeks after the GA Spring Savage Race, so I knew I wasn’t going to see drastic improvement over the flat 5.5 mile course and 23 obstacles. Nevertheless, I was excited to play in the mud again! The course started off with a few too many bottle neck sections on the trail with the OUT, a 6’ Wall, Over Walls, and then it finally opened up with a very long, but at least on all grass, Barb Wire Crawl. I was keeping my current "slow-and-steady" pace anticipating the miles of mostly running that would appear before a gauntlet of obstacles at the end of the race. I went up and over the Vertical Cargo Net and made my way to the Rope Climb. |
