Following up last weeks "wall" with a week of rest and refreshment. My massage went well...not too enjoyable when your body is jumbled up in knots. The therapist told me she could have spent the hour on my shoulders without getting anywhere. Nice. I see her again in three weeks. I also spent a night at happy hour with a good friend of mine. I ate way, way too much food. I was like Thanksgiving full. But I laughed and smiled and had an amazing time. The following night I played two back to back soccer games and burned most of those calories off. I also almost ended up on the ground with a calf cramp in the second game.
Anyways, that was my only exercise last week. 2 soccer games. But boy did my body feel good. I was aching and sore and it was starting to concern me. Yesterday I did a PT session. I did a mile on the treadmill and had my trainer look at my running form. Then I did multiple rounds of assisted pull ups, v-ups, dead hangs and rolling. Yes, more rolling. It was a shorter distance and I didn't feel as bad as before, but I was also not as fatigued. We avoided legs due to today's race. I looked at my code a lot less than before and missed it by one number. Correct code: charlie7275821delta236w
Feeling good about this upcoming week. I've got some good workouts lined up and need to be productive outside of work and the gym. I think setting small goals for each night will work. Like getting my tax stuff together one night. I need that money to help pay for the OCR season!
Have you ever had calf cramps? How do you prevent them? Tips on being productive all the time? Do you take a week "off" here and there and let yourself just vegg out in the evenings?
